”The 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra marked a pivotal shift for Ford’s Special Vehicle Team by replacing the aging pushrod 5.0L V8 with a modern, all-aluminum 4.6-liter 32-valve DOHC "Modular" V8. Producing 305 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, it brought high-RPM performance to the SN95 chassis, defining a new era of refined American muscle. The new 4.6L DOHC engine boasted 90 more horsepower than the standard Mustang GT

Total production reached 10,006 units (including 2,510 convertibles). It featured revised tail lights with three horizontal bars, a revised rear spoiler, and "COBRA" lettering on the rear bumper.”
