Vuosimallin 1986 Range Roverin Vogue -malleihin Land Rover esitteli elektronisen polttoaineen ruiskutuksen. Yhdessä viisivaihteisen manuaalivaihteiston tai nelivaihteisen automaattivaihteiston kanssa, se vei kuninkaallisen maasturin ylellisyyden jälleen askeleen edelle.

Tämä vuosimallin 1988 Savannah Beige Range Rover on minun oma henkilökohtainen autoni, eikä vähiten sen historian ja speksien takia.

Auton on uutena myynyt isäni työskennellessään Land Roverin virallisella maahantuojalla Autorepissä. Range Rover ensirekisteröitiin 03.10.1988 ja ensimmäiset omistajat olivat M & M. Planting Helsingistä. Muutaman yksityisen omistajan kautta auto päätyi brittiautoihin erikoistuneen Karaasin omaan käyttöön 2010-luvun alussa.

Karaasi myi auton P. Koskiselle Raumalle vuonna 2015 ja ostin auton häneltä kesällä 2026. Range Roveria on entisöintikunnostettu perusteellisesti 2010- ja 2020 -luvuilla:

Auton moottori on kunnostettu Land Rovereihin erikoistuneessa Offroad -pajassa: Nokka-akseli, nostajat, jakoketju ja rattaat uusittiin. Venttiilit uusittiin ja kansi koneistettiin. Nokka on hieman jyrkempi ja tarjoaa hienon väännön.

Jouset ja iskunvaimentimet on uusittu. Jarrulevyt- ja palat sekä jarruputket on uusittu. Pakoputkisto on uusittu. Polttoainetankki, polttoaineletkut ja polttoainepumppu on uusittu. Moottorin ohjainlaite on alkuperäinen ja kunnostettu. Lisäksi muun muassa lämmityslaitteen kenno, akku ja laturi on uusittu.

Auton kori on ylimaalattu alkuperäiseen Savannah Beige -metalliväriin syksyllä 2026. Kori on säilynyt todella hyvässä ja alkuperäisessä kunnossa ja ne on ruostesuojattu. Vanteet on kunnostettu ja pulverimaalattu alkuperäiseen tummanharmaaseen metalliväriin. Renkaina ensiasennusrenkaita vastaavat Michelinit alkuperäisessä koossa. Alkuperäiset kylkilistat- ja helmalistat ovat myös tallella. Etuspoileri, lisävalot ja kuraläpät on uusittu. Tuulilasi on hiljattain uusittu. Muut lasit ja rekisterikilvet ovat yhä auton ensimmäiset ja alkuperäiset.

Heinäkuussa 2026 auto on huollettu perusteellisesti: Moottoriöljyt suodattimineen, vaihteiston–, jakovaihteiston– ja perien öljyt on vaihdettu. Jäähdytin ja jarrunesteet on uusittu. Sytytystulpat on uusittu. Ruisku on säädetty.

Range Roverin kokonaisajomäärä on noin 305 000 km.

Pronssinruskea veluurisisusta on hiljattain uusittua kattoverhoilua ja Nardin puukehäistä ohjauspyörää ja Blaupunktin uutta retrosoitinta lukuun ottamatta alkuperäinen. Range Roverin alkuperäisen ohjauspyörän saa mukaan.

Auton saa valmiiksi museotarkastettuna- ja museokatsastettuna niin halutessaan.

For the 1986 model year, Land Rover introduced electronic fuel injection to the Range Rover Vogue models. Paired with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission, this took the luxury of this regal off-roader to the next level.

This 1988 Savannah Beige Range Rover is my own personal vehicle – not least because of its history and specifications.

The car was sold new by my father while he was working at Autorep, the official Land Rover importer in 1980’s and 1990’s. It was first registered on October 3, 1988, with M. & M. Planting of Helsinki as the first owners. After passing through the hands of a few private owners, the vehicle came into the possession of Karaasi—a specialist in British cars—for their own use in the early 2010s.

In 2015, Karaasi sold the car to P. Koskinen in Rauma, and I purchased it from him in the summer of 2026. The Range Rover has undergone a thorough restoration during the 2010s and 2020s:

The engine was rebuilt by a garage specializing in Land Rovers; the (hi-torque/performance) camshaft, lifters, timing chain, and gears were replaced. The valves were renewed, and the cylinder head was machined.

The springs and shock absorbers have been replaced. The brake discs, pads, and brake lines have been renewed. The exhaust system has been replaced. The fuel tank, fuel lines, and fuel pump & fuel pressure regulator have also been replaced. The engine control unit is original and has been refurbished. Additionally, components such as the heater core, battery, and alternator have been replaced.

The vehicle’s body was repainted in its original metallic "Savannah Beige" color in the autumn of 2026. The body remains in very good, highly original condition. Both the body and the chassis are protected from rust.

The wheels have been refurbished and powder-coated in their original dark metallic gray shade. The vehicle is fitted with Michelin tires in the original size, matching the factory-specified tires.

The original side moldings and rocker panel trim are also present and included in the sale. The front spoiler, auxiliary lights, and mud flaps have been newed. The windshield has also been recently replaced. Other glasses and the register plates are still the very first ones!

In July 2026, the vehicle underwent a comprehensive service: the engine oil and filter, as well as the oils for the transmission, transfer case, and differentials, were changed. The coolant and brake fluid were replaced, and the spark plugs were renewed. The fuel injection system has been tuned.

The Range Rover has a total mileage of approximately 305,000 km.

The bronze-brown velour interior is original. Headliner has been recently renewed. Range Rover is equipped with Nardi wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a new Blaupunkt "retro-style" head unit. The original Range Rover steering wheel is included.
