Porsche 911 esiteltiin Frankfurtin autonäyttelyssä vuonna 1963. Auto oli luonnollinen jatkumo Itävallassa Gmündin kylässä alkunsa saaneelle Porsche 356:lle, jonka valmistus oli toisen maailmansodan jälkeen siirtynyt Saksaan, Stuttgartiin.

Siinä missä 356 lainasi paljon osia ja nelisylinterisen boxer- voimalinjan VW Typ 1:stä, oli Porsche 911:n voimanlähteenä taakse sijoitettu, ilmajäähdytteinen 6-sylinterinen bokserimoottori. Urheilulliset ja pyöreät muodot pyöreine ajovaloineen noudattelivat Volkswagen Typ 1:stä ja edelleen Porsche 356:sta tuttua muotokieltä.

Ilmajäähdytteinen auto oli kevyt ja yksinkertainen sekä huoltaa että virittää. Yksinkertaisen tekniikkansa ansiosta se soveltui myös arkiajoon ja oli helppo ja vaivaton ajettava. Porsche 911 oli alusta saakka suunniteltu urheiluautoksi ja kilvanajoon.

Myynnissä oleva auto on 911 -mallisarjan alkupään lyhytakselivälinen versio kaksilitraisella, kuusisylinterisellä bokserimoottorilla. Porschesta rakennettiin 1990-luvulla kilpa-auto autourheilijalegenda P. Sinkkilälle, joka kilpaili muun muassa Jyväskylän suurajoissa yhdessä Alénin, Hannulan, Lampisen ja Mäkisen kanssa ja voitti kolme rallicrossin Suomen mestaruutta. Porsche on FIA-passitettu vuonna 1993. Nykyinen omistaja J.Karhapää on omistanut auton 25 vuotta joulukuusta 2000 lähtien.

Auto on nykyisen omistajan aikana 2010 -ja 2020 -luvun aikana rakennettu täysin uudestaan. FIA -passitettu ralliauto on rakennettu Porsche -osaajilla rahaa ja aikaa säästämättä. Kori on kunnostettu huolellisesti uusin Porschen korjauspellein ja maalattu Porschen Gold Metallic -sävyyn. Sisälle on uusittu turvakaarikehikko ja asennettiin sammutinjärjestelmä. Autossa on polttoainekäyttöinen lisälämmitin talviralleja varten. Keulalla on aikakauteen sopivat Cibien lisävalot.

Moottori ja auton muu tekniikka on Porsche-asiantuntija Pukeman rakentama. Myös vaihdelaatikko on kunnostettu ja kytkin sekä vauhtipyörä uusittu. Niin ikään alustan puslat, jarrut sekä polttoainejärjestelmä kokonaisuudessaan on uusittu hiljattain.

Porsche on nopea, hyvä ajaa ja toimii erinomaisesti. Autolla on ajettu ainoastaan yhden päivän erikoiskokeet moottorin perusteellisen kunnostamisen jälkeen.

Nykyinen omistaja ajanut satunnaisia ralleja ja lopettaa harrastuksen ikänsä vuoksi.

Auto on juuri huollettu ja valmis kilpailuihin, FIA-passi on voimassa vuoden 2028 loppuun ja auton katsastus 01/2027 saakka.

The Porsche 911 was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963. The car was a natural successor for the Porsche 356, which originated in the village of Gmünd in Austria, and whose production had moved to Stuttgart, Germany, after the Second World War.

While the 356 borrowed many parts and the four-cylinder boxer powertrain was developed from the VW Typ 1 engine block, the Porsche 911 was powered by a rear-mounted, air-cooled 6-cylinder boxer engine. The sporty and round shapes with round headlights followed the design language familiar from the Volkswagen Typ 1 and still from the Porsche 356.

The air-cooled car was not only light, but also simple to maintain and tune. Thanks to its simple technology, it was also suitable for everyday driving and was easy and effortless to drive. But from the beginning, the Porsche 911 was designed especially as a sports car and racing car.

The car for sale is the early short-wheelbase version of 911 with a two-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine. In the 1990s, this Porsche was built as a racing car for the racing legend P. Sinkkilä, who competed in the Finnish 1000 lakes Rally together with Alén, Hannula, Lampinen and Mäkinen and won three Finnish rallycross championships. The Porsche was FIA-approved in 1993. The current owner, J.Karhapää, has now owned the car for 25 years since December 2000.

The car was completely rebuilt by the current owner between the 2010s and 2020s. The FIA-approved rally car was built by Porsche experts without sparing any money or time. The body has been carefully restored with Porsche repair panels and painted in Porsche's Gold Metallic shade. The roll cage was renewed and a fire extinguisher system installed. The car has a fuel-powered additional heater for winter rallies. The front has period-correct Cibie additional lights.

The engine and all other mechanics of the car were built by Porsche expert Pukema in Finland. The gearbox has also been overhauled and the clutch and flywheel renewed. The bushings of chassis and suspension, brakes and the entire fuel system have also been recently renewed.

The Porsche is fast, easy to drive and works excellently. The car has only been driven in one day's special stages in Tunturi Rally, Finland after a thorough engine overhaul.

The current owner has driven occasional rallies and is quitting the hobby due to his high age.

Just serviced and ready for competition, the FIA passport is valid until the end of 2028 and the car's inspection until 01/2027.
